Introducing The Bexx Effect —
Where healing is personal, progress is quiet, and showing up as you are is enough.
The Bexx Effect was created as a safe space to move, reflect, and heal—without shame.
My journey includes athletics, injuries, major surgeries, weight struggles, therapy, and learning how to start over more than once. Here, I share what’s helped me along the way, from movement and recovery to mindset shifts and journaling practices.
This isn’t about being fixed. It’s about being supported, curious, and human—together.
My Story
Movement has always been part of who I am.
I grew up playing any sport I could, gravitating toward strength training and later yoga—places where effort, discipline, and presence mattered. For a long time, my body felt like something I could trust.
Over the years, that relationship changed.
Injuries accumulated. Surgeries followed. I’ve navigated cervical spine surgery, a hip labrum repair, hernia surgery, meniscus tears in both knees, and most recently, a lumbar spinal fusion and laminectomy. Each one required a new version of patience, a new understanding of what my body could—and could not—do.
Recovery wasn’t just physical.
After my most recent surgery, my body changed in ways I wasn’t prepared for. I gained weight. I moved differently. I felt disconnected from the strength I once identified with. Around the same time, I experienced a personal loss that surfaced old insecurities—particularly around my weight and self-worth. Hearing how I was spoken about when I wasn’t present forced me to confront something I had avoided for years.
That moment didn’t break me—but it did stop me.
Instead of shrinking further into self-criticism, I chose to step into therapy. I chose to look honestly at my relationship with my body, with movement, and with the stories I told myself about worth and visibility. That choice didn’t fix everything—but it gave me language, tools, and space to begin again.
The Bexx Effect exists because of that decision.
This space isn’t about returning to who I was before injury, surgery, or loss. It’s about learning how to move forward with respect for the body I have now. It’s about strength that adapts, confidence that doesn’t rely on appearance, and progress that doesn’t need to be loud to be real.
Here, I share what has helped me—movement that feels safe, practices that support healing, reflections shaped by therapy, and journaling as a way to reconnect with myself. Nothing here is prescriptive. Nothing here assumes one path fits all.
This is simply my story, shared honestly, in case it helps you feel less alone in yours.
You don’t need to be fixed to belong here.
You just need to be willing to listen—to your body, your needs, and your own pace.
How We Hold This Space
This is a space rooted in openness, encouragement, and respect. The Bexx Effect is built on honesty, kindness, and inclusion—where experiences can be shared without fear of judgment, correction, or comparison.
Conversation here is meant to be supportive and thoughtful. Language that diminishes, shames, or harms others isn’t aligned with why this space exists. Not because those experiences aren’t real, but because this space is intentionally protected.
